About

Travesty Bijoux was born out of a desire to express oneself, to create a glamorous statement, the mix of high and low for a woman who wants to sign herself Unique. The Travesty Bijoux identity lies somewhere between the fantasy of a screen goddess and the energy and originality of a downtown art star.

Christian Freedom was born and raised on Long Island, NY. He attended Sarah Lawrence College, where he completed a B.A. in Theater, Design and Art History.

After university Christian headed to New York City, joining the ranks of the downtown theater and club scene, finding work as a model and actor, specializing in drag performance art.  He went on to design costumes for avant-garde theater, dance, print and  independent films. As a sales stylist at high-end boutiques he has worked with celebrities from Yoko Ono, Linda Evangelista, Irina Pantaeva and Bjork, to name a few.

From these experiences including extensive travels abroad, arts education and exposure to cutting edge design, that helped Christian Freedom decide to launch his own line of limited edition art jewelry.
